The Art of Distraction.
From social media notifications… to text reminders… to calendar invites, or kids running into our home office… distractions are everywhere. So what do you do? Whether you use those squishy focus balls, or practice Tai Chi, or simply put on a pair of headphones, there are multiple ways to keep yourself on point.
With distractions being everywhere they can seem to create a swirling motion around our heads. If you are finding that it’s easy to get lost, or caught in a spiral of everything circling around you, just breathe… and remember, we are in this TOGETHER.
When you feel like you are overwhelmed, not necessarily by normal life of laundry, dishes, and whatever else we juggle, keeping control of ones schedule can be OVERWHELMING.
And if you are a parent, BOOM! You are likely trying to remember what days your kids are in school, when to log on to virtual meetings, and/or managing the endless cries for food, help, and play.
We get it!
What can you do?
1- Try setting blocks of time in your day. This will help keep you on some kind of schedule.
2- Try not to get distracted by the news. It is just plain overwhelming this days!
3- Listen to music. It can help to keep you calm.
4- Go old school and make lists. Nothing feels better than checking off some tasks!!
5. Use a reminder/schedule App like Cozi or Asana. We love these apps and they really help keep us busy working moms from getting distracted and staying on task!
