Throw Out The Resolutions and Pour Yourself a Glass Half Full
From Christmas to New Year’s many people are taking the time to reflect and make resolutions for the next year, but all too often things start out strong only to go by the wayside after a few months.
So Stop. Throw them out.
Instead, Start Small and Evolve. This is a mantra we learned from a dear friend of ours, and every day we live by these words whether in business or in our personal lives.
IN 2021 - When you set a goal, start small and be SMART.
SMART goals are: Specific - Measurable - Achievable - Realistic - Timely
If the idea of setting goals - SMART Goals - seems challenging, mundane, or confusing, we offer a few goals below that are attainable, and will offer your company more growth:
Talk Less, and Listen More - You know the saying, “You may have heard me, but you weren’t listening.” When you lightly respond to employee feedback with words like “Sure,” “Uh-huh,” or “Okay,” you send the message that you hear the feedback, but you’re not actively listening to it.
Empower Your People - Encourage your family, your friends, your colleagues, in self and business-development. Providing opportunities for growth for the people in your life, will encourage empowerment and gain confidence.
Delegate More to Grow Your Team - As a business owner, you may feel the want or the need to do everything yourself, But you need to start delegating, hiring more staff or outsourcing so that you can stop focusing so much on the day-to-day and focus more on truly growing your business.
We know 2020 has been difficult for everyone, especially small business owners, so keep your eyes on the horizon because just up ahead we will all see the light of 2021 — and it will shine bright.
