The Connection Between Physical Activity and Productivity

If you are like us, you love to EAT — and eating really good food from our states amazing restaurants is something we do quite often, not just because we love to support our local eateries, but because it is often times a part of the job. As much as we all love food, it can weigh you down, making it difficult to stay focused and motivated.

So what do you do when you literally dine out for a living, or you simply just love to eat really good food, and a lot of it… but you really need to get work done and stay motivated?

Exercise!!!!

I know… it’s the last thing you want to do when you are FULL, but the connection between physical activity and productivity has been known to humans since the dawn of civilization.

Research has shown that sports and recreation or physical activity in general, have a large positive effect on raising morale, motivation and productivity. We also know that physical exercise makes for a better mood and atmosphere in the working environment. The mental benefits are HUGE.

So the next time you find yourself sluggish after a meal, take a brisk walk, lift some light arm weights, do a few squats… and you will find yourself ready to tackle the rest of the day in an efficient manner simply from getting your heart rate up.
