The Art of Selfies
Anyone else pause for a moment, <you can do this…> before they ask someone if they don’t mind taking a selfie photo with you?
Sure, it is often easy to ask friends, <Thank you to Catherine and Rand for indulging me in this fun photo>… but asking someone that you barely know? Now that is hard. In fact, I think that it might be harder to ask someone that you kind of know, but not super well compared to say a celebrity that you admire! Why? Because the celebrity gets asked to take photos all the time. It comes with being famous.
But, let’s say you spot a key member of your company, an influential person in your community, or an individual that you know can help you in some way… if… you… can… get a photo with them.
So, how do you politely ask without turning beet red, start sweating, or tripping over your words?!
Try to relax and control the seriousness of your voice
Introduce yourself and mention how much you admire them or why you would like to get a selfie photo. Honesty is often the best policy
Make sure that the photo makes the “target” look nice
Thank them and ask if they are okay with you posting this photo and tagging them in it
Have you had any funny selfie experiences? Please share!
