Have you ever heard of playa bowls? There's a place that just opened its doors and is serving up the awesome bowls. Mike Bogden is the co-owner of the new Playa Bowls location in West Hartford. Rob Giuliani is the co-founder of Playa Bowls.

Playa Bowls is opening in West Hartford soon, so co-founder Rob Giuliani and West Hartford co-owner Mike Bogden stopped by to showed us how to make their signature Nutella Bowl.

Playa Bowls’ West Hartford Co-Owners, Mitch Jackson and Mike Bogdan - both business professionals and long-time friends - believe this collaboration promises to fill a growing need for family-oriented and health-conscious meal options in West Hartford.

While walking to a meeting last week, I happened to meet the construction manager for Playa Bowls, which will be opening in the former Potbelly location at 51 Memorial Rd. He said that things are moving along, and the hope is for an opening around Thanksgiving. 

Beer enthusiasts can rejoice in the first ever “Barnside Brews” beer festival at THE SHOPS AT FARMINGTON VALLEY on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 1:00-6:00PM.

Joe Ploof from Hanging Hill Brewery joins Eyewitness 3’s Better Connecticut for a segment on the upcoming Barnside Brews Festival.

Featuring seasonal craft beers by Hanging Hills Brewery, the festival will feature live music from Hartford band Among the Acres, as well as games, crafts for children and other entertainment. Food will be available for purchase from two on-site food trucks, Craft Bird and Donut Crazy, and guests have access to the many restaurants.

Tickets are $10 in advance online through Eventbrite [search: Barnside Brews] and $15 at the door. Children 12 and under attend for free and can enjoy fall games and activities.”

Food from two on-site food trucks, Craft Bird and Donut Crazy, will be available for purchase along with The Shops on-site eateries. Guests can mill about the rustic and cozy decor under the glow of twinkling lights while enjoying the sounds of live music from the band "Among the Acres" voted Hartford's "Best New Band of 2018".
