While walking to a meeting last week, I happened to meet the construction manager for Playa Bowls, which will be opening in the former Potbelly location at 51 Memorial Rd. He said that things are moving along, and the hope is for an opening around Thanksgiving.
Beer enthusiasts can rejoice in the first ever “Barnside Brews” beer festival at THE SHOPS AT FARMINGTON VALLEY on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 1:00-6:00PM.
Joe Ploof from Hanging Hill Brewery joins Eyewitness 3’s Better Connecticut for a segment on the upcoming Barnside Brews Festival.
Featuring seasonal craft beers by Hanging Hills Brewery, the festival will feature live music from Hartford band Among the Acres, as well as games, crafts for children and other entertainment. Food will be available for purchase from two on-site food trucks, Craft Bird and Donut Crazy, and guests have access to the many restaurants.
Tickets are $10 in advance online through Eventbrite [search: Barnside Brews] and $15 at the door. Children 12 and under attend for free and can enjoy fall games and activities.”

Guests can mill about the rustic and cozy decor under the glow of twinkling lights while enjoying the sounds of live music from the band "Among the Acres" voted Hartford's "Best New Band of 2018".
